Day 61 for “Blueberry Cough” and “Channel” Twin #2. The Clone is on day 48 of flowering. Not much going on in the tent. The flush has been started. Plants are getting washed out. We are 9 days away from our target harvest date of 70 days. Looking very well. The nugs on the “Channel” Twin are a lot smaller, but I think a lot more dense then the other seed that I just harvested, the one that’s getting cured right now. Video is coming shortly. I found some interesting guys from the UK. Kind of like me, guerrilla-style growing cannabis. So I’m going to have to give a shout out to them sometime in the videos.
Ooh, we are very close. The buds are looking huge. I can totally see the Big Bud genetics in this strain. Just remember to lollipop your plans. Other than that, I did top the “Grease Monkey” in the other tent. There is a video over here somewhere about that. And yeah, waiting. Just. Four. More. Days.
I have to top my little Grease Monkey plants, so I decided to make an educational video for YouTubers. So if you want to know how to Top a plant, watch the video. It’s actually a lot simpler than you might think. It only took me like a whole 10 seconds to comfortably clip it. But then again, I am a trained professional. And I have been doing this for a little while.
July 13th, 2018 – Day 64 of flowering for “Channel”. I Found out some interesting details about the origins of this particular strain. You remember I was telling you all along, that this strain was a Champion. I was not lying. This baby took the first place in the Indica category, in Barcelona, at the 2008 Spannabis Cup. Two years later in 2010, she took the first place for the Best Resin, also in Barcelona. After the big exposure, there were several other, smaller awards. But nothing as major as the Cannabis Cup. Anyway, I was looking into it, and looked up the origins of the genetics behind this tasty champion. It turns out that she is a proud offspring of two excellent hybrid strains. She is a cross of Big Bud and Skunk. ( Now I see shere she gets her smell ) Although she does looks very much like an Indica., She is actually a Hybrid. I guess there are no true Indicas left out there anywhere. But she’s definitely an Indica dominant Hybrid. According to her plant profile, she usually takes anywhere from 55 to 65 days to flower. I am going to push it up to 70, just to make sure. She is also sporting a decent, 20% THC level, and above average yield.
I recently did a little bit of digging around on the internet, hoping to find the origins of this “Grease Monkey” genetics. I was successful. I was able to locate some information on leafly. They say that the parents of the “Grease Monkey” are “Gorilla Glue # 4″ and “Cookies and Cream”. Although both of the parents are hybrids the “Grease Monkey” is an Indica dominant strain.
Well, no wonder. Both parents are top shelf genetics, and that will account for the potency coming from the “Gorilla Glue #4” and the taste coming from the “Cookies and Cream”. Yeah, I can see how this “Grease Monkey” can be a champion in the future. Hopefully in my future.
