There is an old saying that the children of famous people are usually talentless. But not in this case. This is one of those cases, when the child of two celebrities has become famous all on its own. “Chanel” was brought about by crossing the award-winning “Big Bud” with a veteran of the cannabis community and award-winning cannabis strain “Skunk“. Yes, that same “Skunk” that made a big splash in the 1980s. I don’t think “Channel” has ever won a Cannabis Cup, but the strain does have several notable awards and recognitions.
The flowers have great “bag appeal”. (they look even better in the jar) Buds are big and dense, and are covered in crystals. Very frosty looking nugs. The color is a mixture of light green and pale orange, with streaks of red and purple.
Once you light up, the taste is heavy and aromatic. You will remember the old school smell of kind bud. That dense, heavy skunky smell of your childhood marijuana adventures.
Once you smell your childhood, the effects will start to roll in like the ocean waves. This famous product of celebrities porking is very potent, and will hit you hard with each wave. It’s Indica dominant genetics will relax you and help you sleep. It is a great strain for people with insomnia or that have trouble calming down.
Both of my seeds came up, and are looking lovely. So, I figured I would give you some basic info on the strain. I was looking for something sweet and great tasting for some variety, and I decided that the Cherry Bomb from Bomb Seeds is the way to go. Cherry Bomb is a Indica-dominant Hybrid, developed by Bomb Seeds by crossing they’re monster yielding Big Bomb with a unique and fruity Cherry variety. Because it is an Indica dominant, the plants grow short and bushy, and stay at a low to medium height, which is just perfect for my small space. The THC content is extremely high around 25%. I am not sure what the CBD content is exactly. The yield is also high. It can be grown indoor or outdoor. Indoors it will take 8 to 10 weeks to flower. Outdoor the harvest comes in late September early October. Because of its Indica genes, the effect is couch locking and relaxing, very sedating.
Okay okay folks, trying to bring a little variety to my stoner life. Just planted two brand new strains. The first one is the “Blue God” from Jordan of the Islands (Vancouver based breeder). The second one is a feminized version of the “Cherry Bomb”, from Bomb Seeds. Both are Indica dominant hybrids. I have to stick with the indicas because I am very limited on space, and I have to keep my plants short and bushy. Both strains boast a high THC content, and should be heavy yielders. I am particularly excited about this Cherry Bomb.
It it is the 71 of flowering for “White Widow”, “QPB” and the “Channel”. The big news, the qpb was harvested. I decided to cut her down a little bit early, because the leaves were yellowing and she looked like she was ready. I have been flushing her for over a week, so she should be good to go.
Thethe “White Widow” and the “Channel” are now being flushed. They should be ready to go in about a week or so.
The time has come to clone some of my girls. I went ahead and took 3 clones of the White Widow, 3 clones of the Blue Dream and 3 clones of Channel. Those are the three strains that I’m going to keep. I am not keeping the Quebec Purple Bud, because I don’t really like the way it’s growing. I don’t like the fact that it’s really finicky and it is very temperamental. I decided to keep the Channel because I like the smell. And I’m keeping the White Widow because that’s the most medically acceptable strain. And the Blue Dream, that’s just the best tasting but I’ve ever had. So I’m definitely going to keep some of those genetics.
I was a bit worried that I am taking clones of the plans that are already way late in the flowering cycle. But I read online that you can clone from any point of the growth cycle and a flowering cycle, so I will test that theory. As you can see from the photo, the white widows. Those are the Clones that are way way far away from you, they actually have very decent sized buds on him already. Hopefully they will not take any extra time to re-veg.
Saturday September 15, 2018 – day 46 of “White Widow“, “QPB“, and “Channel“. Day 22 of “Blue Dream“.
Not much news on the White Widow. She and the rest of the old gals are flowering nicely, fattening up. The most news I got is on the Blue Dream. She has completely recovered from her super cropping. And is now Standing Tall. I had to raise my lights a little bit again. But she’s doing very well.
